Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 194

"Worry about yourself, with your 'beautiful blessings'! You're single!"

"Fuck! Why are you resorting to personal attacks?!"

"I'll give you a personal attack! Shut up!"

Amidst their bickering, the black Maybach merged into traffic.

Sitting in the car, the tips of Nora's ears couldn't help but turn red.

As she watched the car slowly pull into the Cloudwater Estate, her heart raced faster and faster, feeling like it would pound right out of her chest.

At first, she hadn't really thought anything would change after the wedding.

But Grant's drunken rambling just now...

The wedding night...

Her and Hudson?

For some reason, the dream she had last night floated into her mind...

To be honest, she wasn't actually repulsed by Hudson.

Even with her intimacy anxiety, she didn't feel that strong of a resistance toward his touch.

In fact...

She even found herself anticipating it.

If there really had to be someone.

Thinking about it being him, it didn't seem like such a bad idea...

Amidst her racing thoughts, the car suddenly came to a halt.

She subconsciously glanced out the window, realizing they had arrived at the Cloudwater Estate.

Bane dashed out of his kennel, circling the car twice with his tail wagging happily, only for Arthur to quickly grab his collar and drag him away.

Hudson stepped out first, taking Nora's hand and leading her inside.

The staff had tactfully made themselves scarce, leaving the entire house so quiet that only the sound of their footsteps and breathing could be heard.

Hudson stopped at the foot of the stairs, turning around to face her.

Nora looked up at him. From this angle, she could see his sharp jawline and the subtle bob of his Adam's apple.

"Are you tired?"

"No."

"Hungry?"

Nora shook her head again.

The train of her wedding dress spread out over the bed, the layers of satin gleaming softly under the dim lighting.

Hudson stood by the bed, looking down at her.

The light from behind cast his profile in sharp, striking relief.

He began undoing his cufflinks, unhurried—one, then the other—before rolling up his sleeves to his elbows, revealing his muscular forearms.

Nora watched his fluid movements, her heart racing uncontrollably. "What... what are you doing?"

"Taking off my clothes."

"Why?"

A smirk pulled at Hudson's lips. "What do you think?"

Nora's face burned crimson. "You can't... it's not even dark outside yet."

Hudson chuckled low. "Who made the rule that you have to wait until dark to take a shower?"

"..."

Nora felt like she was about to burst into flames from head to toe.

"Honey, what were you just thinking about?" Hudson's voice was gravelly and deep. "Did you really want me that badly?"
