Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 140

Tiffany's expression didn't shift. She merely tapped her manicured fingers twice against her knee.

"How can you prove this?"

"I had people run background checks on her!"

Serena quickly pulled out her phone, opened a folder of photos and documents, and shoved it toward Tiffany. "Look at this. These are the school records I dug up from Northampton. Eleanor Vance, Northampton Central High. It has her name and photo printed clear as day."

Tiffany took the phone and scanned the screen.

The photo showed a middle school-aged Nora wearing a blue and white uniform, her hair in a ponytail, standing on a track field with a bright, untainted smile.

Her facial features hadn't changed much; they were just far more youthful back then.

She swiped to the next slide. It was a scanned copy of a household registration file, clearly bearing the name 'Eleanor Vance,' alongside her parent's information.

Father: Arnold Vance.

Mother: Penelope Reed.

Tiffany's brow furrowed slightly.

She continued scrolling, but the very next page made her thumb freeze.

It was a scanned copy of a court ruling. The paper was yellowed and the text was slightly blurred, but the crucial lines were circled in bright red ink.

[The Defendant, Arnold Vance, is found guilty of the statutory rape of a minor and is hereby sentenced to fifteen years in prison...]

Tiffany's pupils contracted sharply.

She snapped her head up to look at Serena.

Serena had been waiting for precisely this reaction, unable to suppress the vindictive sneer twisting her lips.

"You see it now, don't you, Ms. Lancaster? Eleanor Vance. When she was ten years old, she seduced her own biological father. She's a filthy slut, just like her shameless mother. Her own mother eventually found out and called the cops. Arnold Vance got fifteen years and is still rotting in a cell."

Standing by the sill, she absently picked at the peeling paint with her fingernails, her lips stretching into a malicious grin.

Who did Tiffany Lancaster think she was?

She was a woman who tolerated absolutely zero disrespect. Once she found out Jade was a fraud—and the filthy spawn who seduced her own father—she would undoubtedly skin her alive.

Jade would be violently thrown out by the Lancaster family. She would suffer a fate worse than death!

And when that happened, Serena would finally make her triumphant return to San Francisco, claiming the status that was rightfully hers.

Imagining Jade's pathetic downfall when her identity was exposed, Serena's smile grew wider and darker.

She walked back to her cot, picked up the discarded sheet mask, examined it, and tossed it straight into the trash.

She would be going back soon anyway. She would never have to use this cheap garbage again...
