Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 115

“So what if we are?”

Nora was utterly speechless.

The sheer brazenness of his response sent a fresh wave of heat to her ears, and she instinctively slapped her hand over his mouth to silence him.

Hudson's dark lashes fluttered at the sudden contact.

He lowered his gaze to the delicate hand pressing against his lips. Her skin was incredibly soft, her flushed fingertips pressing gently into his skin.

Feeling the tantalizing brush of his breath against her palm, Nora suddenly realized just how terribly intimate the gesture was. She yanked her hand back in a panic.

But before she could pull away, Hudson caught her wrist and pressed a lingering, open-mouthed kiss into the center of her palm.

A jolt of pure electricity shot straight through her hand, racing up her arm and striking directly at her heart.

Nora's fingers curled inward. She tried to flinch back as if she had been burned, but the man easily laced his long, elegant fingers through hers, locking their hands together and pinning her arm against the leather seat.

Click.

Nora looked up just in time to see the privacy partition rising smoothly behind the front seats, sealing off the back cabin into a completely soundproof, isolated cocoon.

Her face flushed crimson.

It was Arthur...

He had absolutely heard everything.

A slow, wicked smirk curved Hudson's lips. He leaned in again, brushing his nose against hers in a sensual tease. “Is it okay now?” he rasped, amusement lacing his dark tone.

Nora bit her lower lip, too flustered to meet his eyes. Her ears were practically on fire, and her heart battered against her ribcage.

But before she could formulate a single word, he crushed his mouth against hers.

The sudden intensity of it caught her wildly off guard. Her spine locked up, a nervous thrill sweeping through her body.

Her cheeks were stained a gorgeous pink, and her dark eyes were heavily glazed with desire. Her lips were beautifully swollen and slick from his kiss. She looked utterly ravishing, completely undone by him.

Hudson swallowed hard, a raw surge of possessive hunger spiking in his veins.

Perhaps intimidated by the raw, consuming look in his eyes, Nora flushed harder and pushed weakly at his chest, trying to put some distance between them.

“Don't move. Just let me hold you for a second,” he grumbled.

Nora froze in his embrace, too stunned to pull away. Her pulse was erratic, her mind wiped completely blank by the intoxicating scent of him.

Hudson buried his face into the crook of her neck. His ragged, scalding breaths scorched her sensitive skin, sending a violent shiver cascading down her spine.

His powerful frame was strung tighter than a bowstring, battling a brutal internal war for self-control. His arm locked around her waist, holding her so fiercely it felt like he was trying to meld their souls together.

It took him several long minutes to rein in his ragged breathing.

Finally looking up at her, a low, rumbling chuckle vibrated deep in his chest, sending a flutter straight through her core.
