Chapter 882
“Gray.”
So much for Gray.
He had only been at Stella’s side for a short time, and he had already forgotten whose orders he was truly supposed to follow.
“Understood.”
Aaron ended the call.
The line went silent, and so did the entire study.
Felix lit a cigarette and took a few drags, Stella’s coldness toward him these past few days frashing through tris mind. 2
He let out a bitter laugh.
Everyone had their own helplessness in life.
Back when Evan had treated Stella that way, Felix had wanted to tear him apart.
And now, in such a short time, he had managed to drive Stella away too.
By the time he finished the cigarette, Felix called Evan.
Evan answered quickly.
“What is it, Mr. Hernandez?”
The formal address made one thing perfectly clear.
Whatever brotherhood had once existed between them was over
It had ended back in Harbor City.
The moment Felix openly tried to take Stella from him, then helped her keep Evan trapped there, their friendship had been finished.
“Things in Eirden are more complicated than you realize,” Felix said. “You’d better stop interfering with her.”
Felix knew Evan would never deliberately harm Stella.
But everything Evan did affected the way she judged the situation around her.
For example, digging up the woman who had died.
Felix did not bother softening his words.
Evan gave a disbelieving laugh.
“Felix, I don’t think you understand. She’s my wife.”
“We’re not divorced,” he added.
At that, Felix’s grip tightened around the phone.
“You know she wants to go to Ravaria, don’t you?”
“My reasons are not what you think.”
“That woman…”
“She was never some great lost love of mine.”
Felix cut him off again.
“She wasn’t?” Evan demanded. “Then why are you protecting her sister so fiercely?”
And Felix still claimed she had not been important?
When Evan first uncovered the dead woman’s existence, his immediate assumption had been that she must have held an important place in Felix’s heart.
Otherwise, Felix would never have gone so far for Summer.
Now Felix was saying she had never been his lost love?
How could that be?
“Do I owe you an explanation?” Felix asked coldly.
“You don’t owe me anything,” Evan replied. “But Stella isn’t going to listen to your explanations now either.”
“Felix, looks like the tables have finally turned.”
Felix fell silent.
