Chapter 871
After ending the call with Jennifer, Stella was approached by Gray.
“Miss Rowan,” he said respectfully. “Summer keeps demanding to see you.”
A cold smile touched Stella’s lips.
“Let her keep demanding. She’ll run out of energy eventually.”
Now that Summer was suffering, she wanted to talk to Stella and beg for mercy.
How ridiculous.
Stella had already warned her to value her life.
Gray nodded.
“Mr. Hernandez’s people are still searching for Summer. It’s obvious he doesn’t believe the urn was real.”
“The test results came back, didn’t they?”
“They did. He still doesn’t believe it.”
Stella laughed.
“What exactly makes Summer so important to him?”
She thought about what Jennifer had said earlier.
Felix did not seem like a man who would endlessly compromise for the half-sister of a dead woman he had once loved.
It was more likely that some kind of interest was involved.
The more stella considered it, the more Jennifer’s theory seemed to make sense.
Felix was not a man who compromised easily.
But given the current situation, what other explanation could there be besides that dead woman?
Jennifer had even said Felix did not seem like the kind of man who would have some great lost love.
If he did, all of Harbor City would have known about it.
Yet no one had heard a word.
The story had only surfaced because Evan dug it up.
“I also think there may be another reason,” Gray said. “But I don’t know what it is.”
Felix was an exceptionally calculating man.
If he did not want someone to uncover something, they could exhaust every resource they had and still find nothing
Just like the earlier claim that Summer had become Felix’s father’s mistress.
Felix had deliberately planted that information for them to find.
Stella fell silent.
A dark gleam passed through her eyes when Gray admitted that he also suspected anether reaser.
“Should I investigate?”
“No.”
Stella shook her head.
Investigating Felix would take too much time.
“I wouldn’t exactly call it going behind his back,” Stella said, “I want to go to Ravaria, and Aaron will definitely try to stop me.
Gray was the only person she could currently rely on,
If he followed her orders, everything would be fine.
But if he did not, leaving would become much more difficult.
“I answer to you, Miss Rowan,”
During the time since their return, Gray had also sensed that something was wrong
Especially with Aaron’s behavior toward Stella.
And Felix’s too.
Anyone surrounded by so much secrecy and pressure would want to escape.
Stella should never have had to carry any of this in the first place.
She smiled.
“Thank you.”
“Would you like me to arrange your departure?”
“Yes. We leave the day after tomorrow.”
She had only promised to meet Michael tomorrow.
She had never promised to stay.
Stella’s decision to leave Eirden had not changed.
