Chapter 825
But he had been too naive.
After what happened with Evan and Stella, the Redson family was even more resistant to Jennifer.
Even a baby could not change their minds.
When Leon did not respond, Jennifer took a breath.
“Leon, when I first started dating you, I never planned to marry you.”
“What did you say?”
“The gap between us meant we were only ever suited for something casual.”
That had been Jennifer’s definition of their relationship from the start.
She had never cared what kind of people the Redsons were.
She was happy with Leon, and since they were happy together, she had thought they could enjoy it for a while.
So she had never planned to deal with the conflict between their families.
She had never expected to face it at all.
“What did you say?”
The words keep it casual made Leon’s expression darken even further.
So she had been playing around with him this whole time?
While he had been seriously trying to figure out how to marry her.
“This baby was an accident,” Jennifer said. “I never planned to tell you. You were the one who found out.”
“Now that you know, don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Let’s end this.”
She said it plainly.
End it.
Maybe the breakups over text had never felt real to Leon.
But now, sitting face-to-face, Jennifer was ending things properly.
“Don’t even think about it.”
Jennifer went quiet.
“I don’t agree to breaking up,” Leon said, each word firm.
For a moment, Jennifer did not know what to say.
See?
They were not even married, and he could not let her break up with him properly.
A man like that would make her life miserable if they ever really stayed together.
“I don’t care whether you agree. I have the right to end this relationship.”
She could see it clearly now.
As long as she stayed here, Leon could turn into another Evan.
She hated men who would not let a breakup be a breakup.
She had not wanted to burden Stella again.
But she was so frustrated she felt as if she might explode, so she told Stella everything that had happened.
Stella nearly shut down when she heard it.
“Leon trusts Monique that much?”
“You have no idea,” Jennifer said bitterly. “He completely believes I cut Monique’s face. And his family says 1 need to pay for it.”
She was furious.
“Monique is just like Summer,” Stella said. “Be careful around her.”
Once Stella heard the whole story, Summer immediately came to mind.
Women like that were experts at acting innocent.
They never left you with proof.
And the worst part was that no one believed you.
Everyone believed them instead.
