Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1040

That explanation was even more ridiculous.

Evan had no answer.

“You’ve taken such good care of her,” Stella said. “Really. Such excellent care.”

Just look at the conditions they were living in.

Was that prison?

It looked more like a hotel.

Stella could not accept that she had gone through so much, only for this to be the final result.

Seeing that Evan had been rendered completely speechless, she rose to her feet.

She looked down at him from above.

“Evan, I truly hate you.”

Hate.

Even back in Harbor City, after everything that had happened, Stella had never used that word lightly.

But now she did.

Why?

Because she had finally reached the limit of what she could endure.

She had never imagined Evan would overturn everything she had fought so hard to accomplish.

“There’s more to your mother’s death than you know,” Evan said.

Stella let out a cold laugh.

Was that the best excuse he could come up with?

Her gaze became even more mocking.

“You don’t believe me?” Evan asked.

“Should I?”

It was more than simple disbelief.

At some point, Stella had stopped trusting not only Evan, but everyone around her.

Now she trusted no one at all.

“You know what my mother’s death means to me,” she said. “I shouldn’t have to remind you.”

“And now your mother is actually…”

“It really isn’t what you think.”

Evan cut her off again.

Stella finally snapped.

She raised her hand and slapped him across the face.
