Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 153

The tension in the obstetrics hallway remained at a breaking point.

Julian angled his body, casually slipping between Eliza and Zander like a shield.

"Let's go."

His voice was low, carrying an unquestionable calmness.

Eliza glanced at him, nodded, and turned to walk away.

Zander was left standing there, one arm still wrapped around Yvonne, forced to watch their silhouettes disappear around the corner.

His Adam's apple bobbed, but he didn't run after them.

It wasn't that he didn't want to.

It was because Yvonne let out a tiny, pitiful whimper against his chest.

"Zander... I'm so dizzy..."

Zander looked down at her, utter exhaustion pooling in his eyes.

But he still steadied her, gently lowering her into a nearby wheelchair.

At the end of the hallway, the doors had already swung shut.

Outside the hospital, the early autumn breeze ruffled Eliza's hair.

Julian walked on her left, his pace unhurried, maintaining a polite half-step of distance between them the entire way.

Eliza didn't speak, and the two descended into a comfortable silence.

The parking lot was just ahead.

Julian's driver had already pulled the car up to the curb. Seeing them approach, he quickly started the engine.

Julian opened the rear door for her first.

Eliza hesitated for a moment before sliding in.

He walked around to the other side, got in next to her, and shut the door.

The noise of the street was instantly severed, leaving the cabin so quiet that only the faint hum of the air conditioning remained.

Eliza sank back into the leather seat and closed her eyes. She didn't even have the energy to ask why Julian had magically appeared at the hospital again.

She wasn't stupid. Combined with Gwen's analysis last time, she already had a solid read on Julian's feelings. But right now, she had zero desire to get entangled in another emotional mess.

How could Julian keep pretending with a straight face that he just 'happened to be passing by' every single day?

The silence stretched for about ten seconds.

Julian was the first to speak, his tone light, like he was sharing a well-thought-out conclusion.
