Eliza shook her head, thoroughly amused. Still, she sent a copy to Arthur Sterling, requesting his formal written opinion before the afternoon.
Just as she finished, her screen lit up again.
This time it wasn't Gwen, but a text from an unsaved number.
"Ms. Shaw, this is Zoe. Director Evans has confirmed his schedule. The day after tomorrow, 2:00 PM, at The Obsidian Club. Producer Jane York will also be present. Ms. York is incredibly fond of your work and is very much looking forward to meeting you."
Jane York.
Eliza knew exactly how much weight that name carried in the entertainment industry.
Jane was Lucas Evans's right-hand producer. Known strictly as "Ms. York" within elite circles, she never appeared on talk shows, refused media interviews, and was so elusive that even her wiki page only featured a blurry profile shot.
But every single project she greenlit was a blockbuster hit.
The fact that Jane York was personally attending a meeting with a choreographer proved that this project's artistic demands were staggeringly high.
Eliza typed out a quick reply: "Confirmed. I will be there on time."
After hitting send, she opened her cramped closet to look for an outfit for the meeting.
Her wardrobe was small and sparse.
Her fingers brushed past several worn garments before settling on a slate-blue blazer tucked in the corner.
She had bought it for herself just before leaving Zander. The fabric wasn't luxurious, but the tailoring was sharp, and it suited her figure perfectly.
Eliza pulled the blazer out, held it against herself in the mirror, and then hung it back up.
No need to rush.
She would get the lawyer's assessment, confirm the clauses, and then secure the meeting.
Eliza Shaw was no longer a naive little girl.
The last time she placed blind faith in others, it cost her a leg, a child, and the entire first half of her life.
This time, she would calculate every single step.
...
The day after tomorrow.
1:40 PM.
Eliza arrived at The Obsidian Club twenty minutes early.
