Seraphina crouched down to meet Cassie's gaze, gently patting her head. "Go downstairs and eat first, Cassie. I just need to wash up, and I'll be right down."
Cassie obediently turned and scurried down the stairs. Finnegan happened to be walking in with several bags of takeout for lunch.
Cassie spotted him instantly and threw herself into his arms, her little face turned upward as she urged him on. "Dad, you need to go get ready too! We're leaving soon!"
Finnegan pinched her cheek affectionately. "No rush. It only takes about an hour to get there from here."
"Okay," Cassie said.
She wriggled out of his arms, climbed into her chair at the dining table, and sat properly to begin eating.
She thought about what Seraphina had mentioned earlier. The main performer at today's concert was a young cellist. Cassie couldn't quite remember his name, but Seraphina had talked about him several times, praising his incredible talent.
Cassie decided she wanted to get an autograph for Seraphina. She knew it would make her incredibly happy.
With that thought in mind, she ate her lunch with renewed enthusiasm.
Around three in the afternoon, Nora and Felix finally arrived at The Metropolitan Concert Hall. A large crowd had already gathered at the entrance.
This was an international-level concert featuring world-class musicians from various fields. Given the prestige of the event, many prominent figures were in attendance.
A red carpet stretched across the entrance, lined with lavish floral arrangements. The air carried a subtle blend of expensive perfumes and the scent of luxury. Many wealthy socialites from elite circles were present.
Felix pulled out his phone to prepare their digital tickets. Nora stood beside him, casually observing the crowd, until her gaze caught on a familiar figure nearby.
Bonnie Harrison wore a creamy white dress, her hair styled into two neat braids.
Beside her stood Xander Harrison in a perfectly tailored suit. He looked much better than the last time Nora had seen him, but that deeply ingrained, aloof demeanor remained. Even from a distance, his intimidating aura was unmistakable.
Xander's sharp, predatory gaze swept over Nora for a brief moment before the corners of his lips curved upward slightly.
"I'm doing well. Thank you for your concern, Ms. Newman."
Despite his words, Nora could clearly tell there was absolutely no warmth in the man's eyes. His defenses always seemed to remain impossibly high.
However, Nora didn't mind. She had no hidden motives, so his wariness didn't bother her.
Just then, Bonnie tugged at Nora's hand. "Nora, the concert is about to start. Let's go inside."
Bonnie fully intended to walk in with Nora. She figured that since Nora was here, her father wouldn't object. But to her surprise, Xander's cold voice cut through the air the very next second.
"Bonnie, come here."
