Before the maid could even finish her sentence.
Finn was already striding into the living room.
His eyes were murderously dark.
His gaze swept coldly over Yolanda before locking onto Chloe.
Chloe instinctively stumbled backward, her hip crashing against the armrest of the sofa.
Finn pulled a wedding invitation from his pocket and slammed it onto the coffee table.
The deep red card hit the polished marble, slid across the surface, and knocked over a teacup.
Hot tea spilled everywhere, pooling over the expensive stone.
"Whose idea was this?" His voice was dangerously low, but the temperature in the room instantly plummeted.
Yolanda glanced at the tea-soaked invitation, her expression completely unflappable.
Her tone remained as relaxed and elegant as ever.
"Your brother handled it. If you don't like it, you can change the color."
Finn stared dead into Yolanda's eyes.
"I asked, who authorized this?"
Yolanda leaned back against the plush cushions, meeting his gaze.
"It had to go out eventually. What difference does a few days make?"
Finn's jaw locked so tight the muscle jumped.
"Did either of you bother to consult me? In this family, does everyone just do whatever the hell they want?"
Before Yolanda could formulate a response.
Finn snatched the ruined invitation off the table and, right in front of her face, ripped it in half.
The sound of tearing cardstock was deafening in the dead-silent living room. He shredded it over and over again, letting the confetti of red, gold, and white flutter to the marble floor until it formed a pathetic pile at Yolanda's feet.
"There will be no wedding," he stated, enunciating every single syllable.
Yolanda's face finally cracked.
"Say that again."
Finn held her furious gaze without flinching.
"Mr. Lowen, it's Finn. Just calling to let you know the wedding is canceled. Yes, the one next month. No need to ask questions, it's officially off." He ended the call and moved seamlessly to the next contact.
Yolanda shot up from the sofa.
"Stop calling people right this second!"
Acting as if she were completely invisible, Finn kept dialing.
Panic finally set in. Yolanda lunged forward and grabbed his wrist, trying to force the phone down.
"Finn! You've lost your mind! The Fletcher family runs a publicly traded empire; public perception is everything! Do you have any idea how much damage this reckless stunt will do to the company?"
Finn slowly raised his head to look at her.
"The Fletcher family cares about its empire, and you care about your pride. I'm telling you right now: if you cross me, I will burn it all to the ground."
He ruthlessly pried his arm out of her frantic grip, inch by inch.
And dialed the next number.
Yolanda's face shifted from pale white to a sickly green. She reached out desperately to snatch the phone, but Finn swiftly sidestepped her.
"Stop this right now," she demanded, her perfectly cultivated voice finally breaking into raw panic.
