Paxton still transferred the dividends to her regularly, but she hadn't touched a single cent.

Even now, when she was so strapped for cash that she had to budget her groceries, she still refused to touch that money.

The front desk girl called for the manager.

It was a capable young woman with a master's degree named Autumn.

"I'm just here to read, no need to fuss," Sienna said.

Autumn was incredibly enthusiastic.

"Mr. Zane left strict instructions. He said if you ever came by, we were to give you the best suite in the house."

Sienna followed her up to the third floor.

Pushing the door open, the room was far more spacious than anticipated. By the window sat a large desk featuring a vintage brass lamp with a pale green shade.

Incense burned steadily in a burner tucked in the corner, filling the air with a blend of sandalwood and jasmine.

A slender vase rested on the windowsill, holding a few freshly clipped sprigs of jasmine.

"Mr. Zane specifically requested this," Autumn said with a smile, lingering by the door. "He figured you'd prefer the quiet, and this is the most peaceful suite we have."

Sienna gazed at the jasmine sprigs, thoroughly charmed by the setup.

She turned to look at Autumn.

"Please don't call me Boss. I'm a bit older than you, so just call me Sienna."

"Sienna," Autumn immediately corrected herself, quickly adding, "Let me know if you need anything at all. I'll be right downstairs."

"Alright, go on back to work."

Just as Autumn turned to leave, a voice called out from the ground floor.

"Excuse me?"

Autumn acknowledged the call, nodded at Sienna, and hurried down the stairs.
