I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 379

Finn pressed the back of his hand to her forehead.

She stiffened in response.

Finn frowned and leaned over, ready to scoop her into his arms.

"I'm taking you to the hospital."

She raised a hand to stop him and pointed across the room.

"There are fever reducers in the cabinet under the TV."

Finn set her down gently and immediately got up to fetch them.

He carefully fed her the medication.

A small blanket was draped over her. It was sweltering, and she struggled against it.

Finn pinned the blanket down.

"Sweat it out."

Sienna stopped fighting him.

She lay on the sofa, bundled up by Finn until she resembled a tightly wrapped burrito.

He sat on the rug, leaning against the couch, keeping a respectful distance.

He didn't speak, simply sitting there as if terrified she might be scared to endure the fever alone, keeping a silent vigil.

After resting for a while, Sienna opened her eyes, turning her head to see him sitting there.

He wasn't scrolling through his phone or doing anything else; he was just sitting.

From this angle, his facial features were striking, his eyelashes dark and thick—utterly captivating.

She watched him for a few seconds before speaking, her voice slightly raspy.

"Finn."

"Yeah," Finn immediately looked back.

"I know why you're treating me so well." She turned her head back, staring at the ceiling. "But let me make it perfectly clear—I can't give you anything in return. There will never be an 'us'."

He remained silent.

Only after a long pause did his low voice fill the quiet room.

"I know. I never expected anything in return."

"Nobody does something for nothing." She closed her eyes. "Stop lying to yourself."
