Suddenly, Isaac stepped forward and clamped his hand over hers on the doorknob.
Sienna froze, staring at him in sheer bewilderment.
Based on everything she knew about Isaac, he was always a polite, measured gentleman who strictly respected boundaries. He would never pull a stunt like this.
Isaac stared right back at her, a storm of suppressed emotions churning in his eyes, looking as though he had been holding them back for a lifetime.
"Sienna, I am not Finn, and I have absolutely no desire to be him."
Sienna couldn't wrap her head around what he meant.
"Director Holloway, what exactly are you trying to say?"
"I..."
"Anyone in here?"
Isaac parted his lips to speak, but a loud knock abruptly interrupted him.
"Anyone home?" Paxton pushed the door open, balancing two cups of coffee in his hands. He took one look at Isaac, then glanced over at Sienna.
He handed one cup to her and set the other down on the nearby desk.
"The vibe in here is super weird. Did you two get into a fight?" He looked specifically at Sienna. "You aren't actually fighting with the Vice President, are you? He is your boss, you know."
Sienna slumped back into her chair, her mind an absolute mess.
Isaac's behavior just now was completely bizarre.
Paxton pulled up a chair and made himself comfortable, casually swirling the coffee in his cup.
"Well, since you're both here, I have some news. That whole mural drama is finally behind us, and I'm officially leaving the hospital."
Sienna snapped her head up.
"Where are you going?"
"Hong Kong. Someone there is funding my art show, so I'm going to check it out. If it goes well, I'll sign with a company; a guy's got to make a living, right?"
He flashed a grin.
"Dinner is on me tonight. Let's all go out to celebrate my send-off."
"I think I'll pass," Sienna said flatly.
Paxton blinked in surprise.
"Is that really how you're going to treat me? I practically lost my life for you."
Sienna stared at him, plunging into a few seconds of heavy silence.
"Fine. I'll go."
Paxton's smile returned. "Invite your bestie too. The more, the merrier."
Yolanda shot her a sidelong glance, her brows knitting together in disdain.
"Look at how pathetic you are. What are you so terrified of? It's just a few phone calls. Is there really a need to act like you've seen a ghost? What's Finn going to do, eat you?"
Chloe clutched the fabric of her skirt, her lips trembling.
"But... he's going to be here any minute. We did this behind his back, and I'm terrified he'll..."
Yolanda calmly set her teacup down.
"If you keep your mouth shut, he won't do anything."
Chloe hesitated.
"But what if Finn finds out..."
Yolanda let out a sharp laugh.
"So what if he does? I am his mother."
Just then, an explosive crash violently shook the front of the estate.
*Smash!*
A maid rushed into the living room, absolute panic painted across her face.
"Madam! The young master is back! He... he smashed his car right through the front gates!"
