Zoe smiled faintly. "Don't worry, Garrett. These people think taking me out will kill the project. But your words remind me—we need to train our junior researchers internally. If anything ever happens to me, they can keep this project running without missing a beat."

Garrett's expression darkened, hating how much she sounded like she was giving her last will and testament. "Don't talk nonsense. Anything could happen to anyone else, but I will absolutely not let anything happen to you."
