I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 201

Garrett had a full set of clean clothes delivered in record time.

"Go to my office. There's a private suite attached with a shower you can use. Don't worry, I won't let anyone disturb you."

Zoe felt it was a bit inappropriate.

But she had no other choice. Her hair was matted with egg whites, shells, and unidentified grime. The stench was nauseating.

When Garrett had escorted her upstairs, several nosy employees had spotted her disastrous state and were now whispering behind her back.

Clearly, the viral post had already circulated through the office.

The comments online were incredibly toxic, tearing her apart from every angle.

The narrative heavily focused on the scandal from five years ago, spinning a vivid tale about how she had drugged Hayden to get him into bed.

The thread was gaining massive traction on social media. The manga was simply too popular right now.

It was impossible to avoid the spotlight.

Even though the post was deleted within ten minutes, the damage was done.

Netizens had already screenshotted and reposted it everywhere. It was a digital wildfire.

Ignoring the strange looks from her colleagues, Zoe washed up in Garrett's suite and changed into the fresh clothes.

Garrett remained a perfect gentleman. To avoid any rumors, he spent the entire hour working out in the reception area.

When Zoe finally emerged, feeling clean and much lighter, she found him waiting.

"Don't worry, no one in this company will dare gossip about you."

Zoe offered a strained smile.

"Mr. Stone, aren't you suspicious of me at all?"

Garrett looked at her with a hint of sympathy.

"I don't know why you choose to keep your marriage with Hayden a secret, and what others say is their own business. But I absolutely trust your character."

Zoe was deeply moved by his unwavering faith in her.

She was entirely innocent. All these baseless accusations were being pinned on her.

She knew she had harbored feelings for Hayden in the past, but she would never stoop so low as to drug him. She wasn't that desperate.

The moment she sat down, the smile vanished from her face.

She grabbed her phone and immediately dialed Nadia.

"I got cornered at the office entrance and pelted with eggs today."

Zoe never hid anything from Nadia.

"Holy crap, I just saw it online! I just got out of court and was about to call you."

Zoe let out a cold laugh. "What else could it be? Aside from Sienna, who else would pull such a trashy stunt?"

She had briefly suspected Hayden, but he was far too dignified for something this petty.

When he protected Sienna, he did it openly and aggressively. Given his power, he could ruin Zoe with a snap of his fingers. This orchestrated mob had Sienna's fingerprints all over it.

Nadia's tone darkened. "So, what's the play? We can't exactly gather evidence and sue her over this."

A wicked smile touched Zoe's lips.

"Going through formal legal channels every single time is far too slow. Since she loves throwing eggs so much, find me a local poultry farm. I'm going to buy five hundred eggs, leave them out in the blazing sun for two weeks, and then we'll execute the next phase of the plan."
