I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 194

Holden refused to budge.

"Uncle Hayden is mine! Why does she get to sit with him?!"

Grandmother Thorne frowned but tried to explain patiently.

"You should call him Uncle Hayden, not act like he's your father. It's confusing. He is Lily's dad. Sienna, you really need to correct his manners."

The old woman was clearly displeased, but Nita foolishly chimed in.

"Holden has been treating Hayden like a father figure for years. You can't expect him to change overnight."

Grandmother Thorne shot her a sharp glare. "Then he needs to learn immediately. What will people think when he grows up and still acts like this?"

Nita clamped her mouth shut.

Sienna looked incredibly wronged, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.

Zoe completely ignored their drama. Sienna and Holden were still glued to Hayden's side, and she wasn't about to try and chase them away.

Besides, it made no difference to her where she sat.

"I'll sit with Holden. Zoe can sit across from me," Hayden said coldly, his voice devoid of any warmth toward his wife and daughter.

Zoe glanced at him, a mocking smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

She had seen this coming.

He knew perfectly well that her presence here was purely transactional.

Because of that, he felt completely comfortable flaunting his favoritism toward Sienna.

He was betting that Zoe wouldn't cause a scene like last time.

He expected her to be docile and obedient.

Grandmother Thorne's face clouded over with anger.

Sienna kept her eyes downcast, pretending to be torn.

She acted as if she didn't know whether to obey the family matriarch or follow Hayden's lead.

Grandmother Thorne hadn't expected Hayden to shield them so blatantly.

Holden puffed out his chest triumphantly.

"Uncle Hayden is mine! All mine! She doesn't deserve him!"

"Holden, watch your mouth. You do not speak to your cousin that way," Grandmother Thorne snapped, her patience wearing dangerously thin.

What kind of monster had Sienna raised?

Her beloved grandson Charles had been the sweetest boy when he was young.

He was nothing like this arrogant, disrespectful brat.

Zoe was getting way too bold.

Did she forget she was in the Thorne estate? Who gave her the right to speak like that?

And to tattle to Grandmother Thorne, no less!

"Car? Whose car got keyed? Who did it?" Grandmother Thorne demanded.

Hearing the question, Lily stood up from her chair and pointed a tiny finger straight at Holden.

"He did! My mommy bought a really pretty pink car to pick me up from school. He scratched a giant turtle on it and ruined the paint!"

Holden flared up in anger. "You crybaby! That car was incredibly ugly! Drawing a turtle made it look better! You have zero taste, you ugly monster!"

"You're the ugly monster! You're a fat jerk!" Lily shot back without missing a beat.

Her mom knew martial arts and wasn't even scared of her dad.

She definitely wasn't scared of Holden.

Grandmother Thorne's expression darkened with absolute fury.

She leveled a death glare at Sienna.

"Explain this immediately."

Panic seized Sienna's chest.
