I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 338

"You think you're justified?"

As soon as the words left her mouth, she felt the embrace tighten abruptly.

After a moment of silence, the man's husky voice sounded by her ear.

"I'm not justified."

She heard him say.

"But, I have Sienna."

That one sentence left Sienna completely stunned.

It was cheesy.

But his tone was incredibly earnest, choking her up so much she didn't know how to respond next.

Just as she was debating whether to tell him that Julian was just her cousin, Jorrod lazily added, "When can I become official? I want everyone to know we're together."

"..."

Forget it, just stay where you are.

That's what you get for having a sharp tongue.

Sienna pushed him. "I need to go find something."

"Hmm?"

Jorrod didn't know what she was looking for, but seeing she had business, he obediently let her go.

Sienna left the kitchen and walked over to the shoulder bag hanging on the coat rack by the door. She took it down, rummaged through it for a moment, and sure enough, found the USB drive Julian had mentioned.

It was tiny, resting right next to her power bank.

She guessed she must have accidentally grabbed it when she was packing her things.

Sienna turned to send a message on WeChat.

Upon unlocking it, she saw a message Julian had sent a few minutes ago.

Julian: [Why did you hang up just now?]

Sienna brushed it off with a bad signal excuse and changed the subject to the USB drive.

A Bowl of Millet: [It really is in my bag. I'll drop it off at your place in a bit.]

Julian: [No need to trouble yourself. I'll just swing by your place after work to pick it up.]

Sienna sat in the passenger seat.

The man beside her had excellent service awareness. From opening the car door to buckling her seatbelt, her hands stayed comfortably in her pockets the entire time.

The heater in the car was on full blast. She leaned back against the seat, sinking into the cushions, looking utterly lazy in the warm air.

She looked completely harmless, entirely off guard.

Jorrod turned his head to glance at her.

It felt like warm water gently washing over his heart; all his restless anxiety was soaked soft and warmed by this sight.

His Adam's apple bobbed as he withdrew his gaze.

His eyes settled on the road ahead. The night was thick, the streetlights casting a hazy glow, but reflecting in his eyes, it made him feel remarkably at peace.

This was Sienna's turf.

And she was sitting right beside him, completely defenseless.

His normally cold eyes seemed steeped in a gentle light as Jorrod asked about the route. "Where to?"

Sienna said, "AstroTech Solutions."
