I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 385

Sienna paused slightly, lowering her eyes to look down at him in confusion.

Jorrod's head was resting right against her thigh, making it incredibly easy to feel his muscles instinctively tense the second he dropped the news.

He didn't look up, his eyes still glued to his phone, his tone completely flat. "Do you remember Nora Thorne?"

Sienna had a vague impression. Silas Lester had mentioned her before, claiming she was the one who grabbed the wrong drafts, leading to the massive plagiarism scandal. Supposedly, she had been too cowardly to report the mistake and was subsequently fired by the company.

"She showed up at the office a few days ago. The truth is, Liam stole your designs on purpose. He figured since you two were dating, it wouldn't be an issue, and it was only when you broke up with him that he dragged Nora in to take the fall."

"Liam paid her off, but he never delivered the second half of the money. Nora finally hit her breaking point and exposed the whole thing."

Sienna scoffed coldly, thinking he entirely deserved it.

But she still felt a pang of regret. "He still got off easy, coasting along at Stellaris Corp for all this time."

"He won't."

Sienna looked down to see the handsome man's lips twitch, his gaze turning icy. "Nora's excuse at the time was a mix-up, but Liam committed deliberate, calculated plagiarism. With a scandal like this out in the open, Stellaris Corp's legal team isn't just going to sit around. We have every right to sue him for massive damages over his actions."

With something like this happening, Jorrod was obviously going to fan the flames.

"Once he's officially blacklisted by Stellaris, there isn't a single company in the industry that will dare hire him. He's going to have to find a completely new career path."

Sienna didn't say anything else.

In the ensuing silence, she felt an overwhelming sense of irony over how her childhood friend had turned out like this. But thinking about his parents, it made sense; raised in that environment, his fundamentally rotten character was practically destined from the start.

Looking back at the whole ordeal, the difference between Liam and Jorrod was glaring. Liam secretly stole her work while spouting sweet, empty lies to her face. Jorrod had a razor-sharp, vicious tongue, but his very first instinct was to pull the designs and launch a full investigation.

Even though his idiot brain had malfunctioned halfway through, causing his investigation to veer off course from the actual truth...

Lost in thought, she felt a soft pressure against her lower abdomen. Looking down, she saw Jorrod taking the convenient angle to press a kiss right over her clothes.

His voice came out in a lazy drawl, all trace of his earlier coldness entirely vanished. "Did he get what he deserved?"

Jorrod's schedule was packed to the brim, leaving him without a second of free time all day.

Finding a rare day off amidst the chaos, Jorrod finally took her back to the Vaughn family estate to formally introduce her.

The most shocked of all was Theodore Vaughn.

He looked Sienna up and down as if he were inspecting a national treasure.

He had met her before, but back then she was just the 'ex-girlfriend.' Now that she was officially the girlfriend, Theodore was absolutely thrilled.

He had fully expected his grandson to die a bachelor with his awful temper.

As for Madeline Vaughn, she had heard Sienna's name a long time ago, accidentally slipped by her daughter.

Later, because of the Joey Quinn incident.

Madeline had harbored some prejudice against Sienna, but after spending the day with her, she quietly overturned all her previous assumptions.
