His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 256

"Faking a car crash to rile up your fans into harassing my sister at her clinic. Purposely posting vague, leading comments online to fuel their delusions... That is the real you. Ruthless and completely unhinged."

"Wesley!" Chloe finally snapped, dropping all pretense of frailty. Her face twisted into a hideous mask of jealousy and rage. "Are you insane?! We share the same mother!"

"Who the hell is Virginia Caldwell?! She's nothing but a thief who stole my identity and cost me my place on the international stage! And you're treating me like this for an outsider?!"

Miles looked as though he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

Sliding his hands into his pockets, he took a step forward, his words slicing like daggers. "An outsider? Are you kidding me?"

"When I was lying in that hospital and even my own biological parents wanted to give up, she was the one who desperately begged the doctors to save me. During the years I was brain-dead, she was the one working multiple jobs just to keep me breathing."

"And you?" Miles looked her up and down, scoffing. "You teamed up with the Suttons and the Caldwells to force my family to sign the Do Not Resuscitate papers!"

"Listen to me very carefully." He took a deep breath to steady his temper, his voice freezing over. "I only have one sister, and her name is Virginia. As for you—sorry, we're not close."

Chloe trembled violently with rage, glaring daggers at him as her nails dug fiercely into her palms.

"Fine... Fine!" she hissed through gritted teeth, a toxic madness burning in her eyes. "If you all want to protect her so badly, then don't blame me for playing dirty! Let's see how long you can keep her safe!!"

With that, she spun on her heel and slammed the door behind her.

Not long after Chloe stormed out, the lounge door was shoved open violently once again.

Having entirely lost his patience, Miles was just about to scream at whoever it was when he saw Eleanor and Richard.

Displeased, Richard frowned. He marched forward with a dark scowl, asserting his paternal authority. "You ungrateful brat! Is that how you speak to your mother?"

"If we hadn't seen the news online, were you planning to hide from us for the rest of your life? Just because you're a big star now and your wings are fully grown, you think you can disown your own parents?!"

Miles toyed with the phone in his hand, spinning it casually.

"Own parents..." A fleeting memory seemed to cross his eyes before he looked up at them with a pained, bitter gaze. "Back in the hospital, who was it that forced the doctor to pull my tubes? Who signed the forms to give up my treatment behind my sister's back? Wasn't that you?"

Richard's face changed colors. He tried to argue back, though a flicker of guilt betrayed him.

"The... the doctors said you couldn't be saved back then. What could we do? Were we supposed to drag the whole family into ruin for a vegetable?! We were thinking of the bigger picture..."
