His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 255

Oh, right.

Madeline remembered now.

It faded completely after she pushed Virginia away time and time again, constantly demanding she "be more accommodating to her sister."

A sudden wave of panic fluttered in Madeline's chest, her eyes clouded with a mix of complexity and confusion.

But then she thought of Chloe.

She thought of the exceptional daughter she had carefully raised, who was forced to distance herself, give up the man she loved, and move abroad alone—all because of an absurd mix-up at birth.

If it hadn't been for Chloe's heartbroken departure and her extreme sports activities abroad, she wouldn't have nearly shattered her arm, sacrificing a brilliant future...

Thinking of this, Madeline forcefully snapped back to reality. Steeling her resolve, she spoke with a cold edge.

"Virginia is indeed my biological daughter, but if we hadn't brought her back, Chloe wouldn't have left out of despair, and none of this would have happened! Chloe has suffered so much. As her older sister, Virginia should be the one to give way!"

Archer's eyes darkened as he simply pressed the end call button.

Leaning back in his leather chair, he swiveled toward the gray sky outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. A turbulent, unreadable emotion swirled in his dark eyes.

Who had ever pitied the suffering Virginia went through? Who had ever fought to get her even a shred of justice?

...

Meanwhile, in the top-floor lounge of Starshine Entertainment.

A few sharp knocks echoed on the door before it flew open. A woman swathed in a heavy coat, hiding behind oversized sunglasses and a black mask, rushed in on her high heels.

The moment she entered, she slammed the door shut behind her.

Miles, who was deeply engrossed in a mobile game on the couch, paused and looked up, his brow furrowing deeply.

His assistant was getting too sloppy. How did a crazy stalker slip in here so easily?

Chloe froze, sparkling tears hanging from her lashes as she put on a pitiful display. "Wesley, are you still blaming me?"

"But if Virginia hadn't insisted on running away back then, you wouldn't have been hit by that truck trying to help her... I've blamed myself every single day I was abroad."

"I often think that if I had just been brought back to the Suttons earlier, met you earlier, or stayed by your side right after the accident, things wouldn't have turned out this way..."

Miles let out a cold laugh and stood up.

His imposing height instantly brought an uncomfortable, suffocating pressure into the room.

He looked down at Chloe's theatrical performance with icy disdain. "Blamed yourself? By faking illness online to play the victim? Or by buying internet trolls to cyberbully my sister?"

Chloe went pale, her eyes darting in panic. "I didn't... Virginia started it..."

"Save it," Miles scoffed, completely tearing through her façade. "Did you really think your manipulative little tricks could fool everyone?"
