HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 935

The man standing directly to Silas's right suddenly collapsed, his body slamming into another man's shoulder before falling flat onto the floor. Now, no one could hide their panic any longer.

"Mr. Silas!"

"They're targeting us!"

"Protect Mr. Silas!"

Several men immediately formed a barrier in front of Silas, but none of them dared remain exposed for long. They couldn't see the enemy they were facing.

And that was the most terrifying part. Silas's face finally turned deathly pale. For the first time since the day had begun, his confidence was truly shaken. He took half a step back, his instincts screaming that control of the battlefield was slowly slipping from his grasp.

His eyes met Cale's once again. The man was still walking toward him. His face remained expressionless, showing neither the smile of victory nor anger. Only an absolute calm that felt far more threatening than everything happening around them.

"Who are they?" Silas asked quietly.

Cale stopped a few meters in front of him. His gaze never left Silas's face. "You were too busy watching me." His voice remained calm. "You forgot to look at the entire board."

Those simple words struck Silas far harder than the punch that had broken his tooth. In the end, he was forced to accept a reality that had never once crossed his mind.

From the moment Cale had entered the house, it was Silas who had been led, little by little, toward the end of the game. But no. He would not surrender tonight. After everything that had happened? Impossible!

Silas gritted his teeth. Without hesitation, he raised his pistol and aimed it directly at Cale's chest. "Die!"

His index finger began to squeeze the trigger, but at almost the exact same moment...

Pfft.

A sharp pain shot through Silas's right leg. His body lost its balance. The pistol in his hand fired, but the bullet struck the wall far behind Cale.

"Agh!"

He dropped to one knee, clutching his thigh. Blood began seeping through his fingers. Panic once again swept through the corridor.

Before he could finish his sentence, two faint shots echoed from the distance once again. The two men firing at them from the second-floor balcony suddenly collapsed almost simultaneously.

Vincent let out a quiet breath. "Echo Team."

Cale merely gave a slight nod.

As though everything was unfolding exactly as he had planned.

On the other side of the corridor, Silas, still on one knee, was quickly pulled back by two of his men. Blood continued dripping from his thigh, leaving a crimson trail across the floor. His face had begun to pale, yet he still forced a smile.

"Don't stop!" he barked at his men. "Finish them!"

A moment later, several more men emerged from the far end of the corridor. They tried to block Cale's path while returning fire, buying Silas time to retreat farther.

Vincent raised the pistol. "Ring One has entered from the east side."
