Candy POV
I want to strangle Sinclair. That bitch is always saying condescending things to me. Ronan has kept me away because he knows all I see is red when I’m face to face with Sinclair. Now she says she is sorry for my loss. I don’t know what the hell she is talking about.
“Candy, calm yourself. We are here to see your father,” Ronan said. “Don’t let Sinclair get in your head. Her day of reckoning is coming.”
“I want to kill her.”
“I understand, and you will have your moment. For now, let’s go see Julian and let him take us to your father.”
We walked into the pack house. We were led to Julian’s office. He sat behind his desk. He looked strong and menacing. I have no idea why he is working with Sinclair, but he is the only thing between Sinclair and me killing her. It makes me hate him that much more.
Julian looked up when he saw us. He stood up and, with a serious face, said, “Please come in. We need to talk.”
The look on his face isn’t angry, but it is serious. The kind of serious expression that tells me he is about to lay something heavy on us. Sinclair said she was sorry for my loss. I’m not sure what is going on, but I am hoping it’s not what I’m thinking.
“Candy,” he began. “Yesterday, I called Ronan and asked him to bring you by to see your father. He was in our pack hospital.”
“Ronan said as much,” I replied. “Why was he in the hospital?”
“Dehydration. My guards neglected their duties. They have been addressed.”
“Okay, so can I go see him? What about my brother?” I asked, carefully.
Julian sighed. “Conrad passed away shortly after my call to Ronan. He unexpectedly had a heart attack.”
My head stopped. “Daddy is dead?”
“I’m very sorry for your loss. Our customs are different from humans. We typically burn the bodies. However, we have preserved your father’s body. Chad was discharged yesterday and let go. We told him not to come back.”
I felt my body give out. Ronan caught me. “I got you, Candy.”
“Chad left? He hasn’t called me. He didn’t tell me about daddy dying.”
Julian sat back down. “Honestly, he didn’t seem to care much. He left, and he didn’t seem affected like you are right now. I don’t know the customs for human funerals, but I will pay for those expenses. Just let me know what you need.”
“I want to see my father. Now,” I said, tears swelling in my eyes.

So many missing chapters and repetitions. A different story altogether from chapter 101...
