His Plump Mate (Book 1: The 'His' Series) novel Chapter 678

Sinclair POV

The eighteen-wheeler is on schedule. We wanted to create a diversion, and here it is. Adrian did well. I rigged one of my tires, and Angelo has the switch to blow it up. I nodded at Angelo, and he pulled the device from his jacket and hit the first trigger.

The tire blew out quickly, and I started steering and screaming for optics. The eighteen-wheeler wrapped around the car, and the side panel of the rig opened. I threw my bag and pushed Angelo first.

“LUNA!” he screamed.

“AHHH!” I screamed and jumped out of the car before letting it crash through the guardrail and down the woods, where boulders lay at the bottom. I jumped into the rig just as quickly, and Angelo pressed the second trigger. My car went up in flames.

The driver of the rig got out, started screaming, and called for help, creating a diversion before the warriors could sense something was off. The warriors were scrambling as they now had to explain it to Julian. The rig wasn’t at fault. The tire blew and caused the accident.

After about fifteen minutes, the rig started moving again. I let out a breath I had been holding. Everything worked smoothly, but we are not out of the woods yet. We need to board the jet.

When I turned around, my senses cut through the stale metal smell. Blackstone warriors were in here. They were ready to fight if necessary.

“Beta Sinclair, welcome back,” one said.

I smiled. “Thanks. This is Angelo. Alpha Aiden wants to meet him.”

“Angelo, welcome.”

Angelo’s face reddened. “Um, thanks.”

“Please tell me you have a phone,” I said.

They all smirked. “Yes, ma’am. Beta Adrian is anxious to hear from you.”

One handed me a phone, and I dialed Adrian. As soon as the phone picked up and I heard his voice, I broke down.

“Adrian!”

“Little Sin! Are you okay?”

“Everything worked according to plan. I’m in the rig. We are on our way to the airstrip. I’m coming home, babe. You’re not mad at me, right?” I asked.

I hear him gasp. “It wasn’t your fault. I’m not mad, little Sin. Just get here. I can’t wait to see you, little Sin.”

“Me too, babe! Wait for me!” I said happily, and it made some of the warriors chuckle. I can’t help it. I’m relieved. He isn’t mad.

Angelo is looking around and seems confused. I’m sure this is different for him. The Blackstone warriors wouldn’t treat him badly, like Julian’s pack.

“Always, little Sin.”
