Adrian POV

The only thing I want to do is spend time alone with Sinclair. I know she needs to be debriefed. I know she needs to eat. I know she wants to see our pups. I just want her. I have missed her like crazy, and now she is here with me again.

“Before Adrian kidnaps his mate, let’s get back to the pack,” Thalia said, laughing.

I smirked. “You can’t blame me. It’s been a month.”

Aiden laughed at me. “Try to behave yourself, Adrian.”

Meanwhile, Angelo was looking at us with amusement. I take the time to greet him. I extend my hand to him.

“Thank you for looking out for my mate, and for interrupting Julian when you did.”

The tips of Angelo’s ears went pink. “Sinclair looked after me more than I could for her. She defended me a lot. She told me Blackstone is a good place.”

I smiled. “Better than good. Come on, let’s go.”

We all headed out of the airstrip and to the SUVs waiting in the parking lot. We all loaded up, and then took off towards the pack house. I have my arm around Sinclair, and her head is on my shoulder. Her sweet bergamot and honey scent filled my senses and calmed me.

I have been on edge for a month. Today, seeing Julian kiss my mate infuriated me. Now that my little sin is back, though, I couldn’t care less about that asshole. His day is coming, but today, he is nothing. She is everything.

Angelo is sitting across from us with Aiden and Thalia. Aiden starts asking questions of Angelo.

“How did you get mixed up with Julian?” he asked.

“Like I told Sinclair, Julian sold me a bill of goods. It was all a lie. He gave the illusion that he would treat everyone fairly and protect us all. In reality, he ignored a lot of his pack members, myself included.”

“You work in IT, though, right?” Aiden asked.

“Yeah. I think I’m pretty good, but nowhere near as good as Sinclair.”

“Sinclair is certainly gifted,” Thalia said and then asked, “What makes you want to come to Blackstone?”

“Sinclair sold me the bill of goods this time. I believe her, though.”

“Are you a wolf, too?”

“A maw. Julian converted me.”

Aiden and Thalia looked at each other and then at Angelo. “You’re a maw?”

“Yeah. Why?”
