His Plump Mate (Book 1: The 'His' Series) novel Chapter 633

Sinclair POV

As tired as I feel, my brain isn’t going to shut down right now. Not when information this juicy is sitting in front of me. I immediately pulled my laptop from my bag and turned it on.

Before I could start typing away, Adrian stopped me. “Little sin. You need to rest. Tell me what you found and then we can attack it together after you sleep. Your sleep pattern is all over the place these last few days.”

I huffed. “My brain isn’t going to shut down. Don’t you see it?” I asked, pointing at the account numbers.

“No. What should I see?”

“These bank accounts all have a letter in the middle, signifying which offshore account goes where. Look what it spells out!” I said excitedly.

He looked at it, and his eyebrows furrowed. “Wait. Am I seeing things, or does it spell out ‘JULIAN’?

I smiled widely. “That’s exactly what you are seeing. Look at the pattern. Each amount is different for each account. However, month over month, the same amount is deposited to each account. So, ‘J’ gets seventy-five thousand each month. Then, ‘U’ gets fifty thousand each month, and so forth. That’s our trail.”

Adrian grabbed me by my face and kissed me passionately before breaking away. “You are a genius, little sin. You seriously are. I hope our pups are geniuses like you.”

“I love you, too, Adrian. Now, I need to hack into Julian’s mainframe. Now that I know what I am looking for, I can drain all the accounts. I’ll even close them.”

Adrian pulls me onto his lap. “You need rest, little sin. You are not a machine, even if your brain works like one.”

I huffed. “I can’t sleep now, Adrian. This is the breakthrough we have been looking for. We want to cripple Julian.”

“Little sin,” Adrian began. “Those accounts will be there when you wake up. Hack his systems all you want, after you rest.”

We hear a knock at the door. Adrian moved me to the couch again and closed my laptop. “Stay,” he said with a smirk, as I scowled at him.

When he opened the door, Aiden and Thalia walked in. I jumped up and grabbed Thalia’s hand, jumping. “We figured it out!” I said excitedly.

“No. You figured it out, little sin.”

Aiden looked surprised. “You did?”

“Yes!” I grabbed Aiden and Thalia by the hands and sat them on either side of me. Then I showed them what I found. Once they saw it, they couldn’t unsee it.

When I woke up, it was the next morning. I slept a solid ten hours. I felt rested, and part of me hated that Adrian was right. I was tired, and he could see it. Still, I felt cozy and warm in bed. Adrian’s hand was draped over me, possessively over my stomach as he slept.

I smiled. I never thought I would know what this felt like. To be cared for so carefully. To have someone witness my life and only want to add to it. Someone seeing the exhaustion and making sure I am taken care of—someone who acts not only like my partner but my other half. A half I didn’t know I needed, but now that I have it, I can’t live without it.

I slowly start caressing his hand on me, smiling at the amount of love I am feeling right now. I suddenly feel a fluttering in my stomach, and I gasp slowly. Adrian’s hand stiffened.

He asked, very groggily, “Was that our pups?”

I grinned, even though I was facing away from him. “Yeah. It was.”

He suddenly smiled into my neck. “It seems that they approved you getting rest.”

I chuckled. “Thank you for taking care of me last night.”

“You don’t ever have to thank me for doing what a mate should, little sin.”
