Stella was left standing completely alone.

Leaning against the wall, it took a long time for her racing heart to calm down.

After lingering for a few more minutes, Stella figured Jarrod and Chloe had safely returned to the private room and turned to head back herself.

To her surprise, Cassidy found her first.

Radiating absolute joy, Cassidy sprinted over. "Stella! Weren't you just going to the restroom? How did you end up out here? I waited forever for you to come back!"

Stella shook her head. "It's nothing, I just needed some fresh air. Looking at you, it seems like you have some amazing news?"

"I do!"

Cassidy couldn't contain her excitement. "Mr. Fuller left, but before he did, he announced that our team worked incredibly hard, and he had a special reward prepared for us—brand-new laptops for everyone!"

"His assistant just brought them in. They're the absolute latest models, maxed-out specs! Mr. Fuller is incredibly generous; this is way better than a standard bonus!"

Stella was stunned.

Jarrod actually bought every single one of her team members a top-of-the-line laptop?

"Fess up, did you secretly 'convince' Mr. Fuller to do this?" Cassidy asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

Remembering their phone call that morning, Stella sighed. "I wish, but I don't carry that kind of weight with him."

Knowing exactly what Stella’s marriage entailed, Cassidy waved it off. "I was just messing with you. Why are you sighing? The point is, we got our reward!"

"You've been wanting to replace that ancient brick of a laptop anyway, this is perfect timing!"

She wasn't wrong.

Stella's laptop was years old and practically unusable for heavy work.
