"Stella, is it true the launch got postponed?!"

Before she could even finish her apology, Cassidy's ecstatic shriek blasted through the speaker.

Stella was completely caught off guard. The launch was delayed?

"When did this happen? Who told you?"

"Director Huxley just posted the announcement in the main chat! I figured you already knew, so I'm just calling to confirm!"

Stella immediately glanced back toward the closet.

When Jarrod asked why she wasn't resting, was it because he was the one who ordered the delay?

But he had coldly rejected her request in the car last night.

"What day did they move it to? Is there an official memo yet?" Stella still felt a lingering sense of dread.

After all, this entire crisis was orchestrated by Chloe Huxley to watch her fail. Stella was terrified that if Chloe threw a fit, Jarrod might revoke the extension just to appease her.

Cassidy was practically vibrating with joy. "It's moved to Friday! Director Huxley said the official paperwork will be distributed shortly, but everyone has already been notified. It's locked in!"

Stella finally exhaled.

Friday gave them plenty of time to execute everything perfectly.

"Alright, tell the team to take the day off and rest up. I'll head to the venue to check on things," Stella said.

Cassidy cheered like she had just won the lottery, but before hanging up, she added a hesitant question. "Stella, did you honestly not know about this ahead of time?"

Stella found the question a bit odd. "I really didn't. Why?"

Cassidy laughed it off quickly. "Nothing, just curious! I'm going back to bed!"

After hanging up, Stella immediately opened the company group chat.

Sure enough, there was an official notice from the Director announcing the delay.

The crushing weight that had been suffocating Stella for days finally vanished.

She quickly tapped out a generic "Received" emoji.
