Jarrod Fuller was listening to Arthur Bishop's work report when Stella Quinn's voice over the phone made his expression turn somber.
Seeing this, Arthur tactfully closed the file and retreated from the office, thoughtfully pulling the door shut behind him.
"Tomorrow is the final day of the thirty-day cooling-off period. Are you free in the morning or the afternoon?" Stella asked.
Jarrod gripped his pen, a dark storm brewing in his eyes as his knuckles turned white from the sheer force.
He held back for a few seconds but ultimately lost the battle. Slapping the pen down, he scoffed coldly, "You have a great memory. You must have been counting down the days!"
Stella paused for a moment before saying calmly, "Morning, then. I'll wait for you at the Royal Oaks Marriage Registry at ten."
With that, she ended the call.
Staring at the disconnected screen, Jarrod gritted his teeth and dialed Julian Jenson's number. "Where are you? Get over to the Fuller Group right now!"
Hearing the furious edge in Jarrod's voice, Julian assumed there was an emergency. "Okay, I'll be right there!"
When Julian rushed frantically into the office, he found Jarrod sitting in his executive chair, calmly reviewing documents.
Aside from a slightly grim expression, he looked completely normal.
"Jarrod, why the rush? What's going on?" Julian asked.
Jarrod motioned for him to take a seat, only moving to the sofa himself after he finished signing the paperwork in front of him.
A secretary brought in coffee and a fruit platter. Julian tossed a piece of fruit into his mouth, chewing as he watched his silent friend.
"This is about Stella, isn't it?"
Julian knew absolutely nothing about business, so Jarrod would never consult him on that.
And Jarrod certainly wasn't interested in partying.
That left only one option—Stella Quinn.
Sure enough, Jarrod frowned at the mention of her name. He took a sip of his coffee. "She wants me to meet her tomorrow morning at ten to get our divorce certificate."
