He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 80

Chapter 80

(Daisy’s POV)

I took him in completely, every detail.

I definitely did. And that was the problem.

Because now my brain had information it did not need, did not ask for, and frankly should have rejected on arrival.

But no.

It stored it.

Clearly.

I tightened my grip on my towel like that would somehow reset these last ten seconds. It didn’t.

Nothing reset, and everything stayed exactly where it was- pretending it was.

s- him, easily standing there like this was normal, and me, standing here

I didn’t want to react. I wanted this to end with him not thinking anything apart from normality.

So I cleared my throat, ignoring the heat as I forced my eyes up to his face. Only his face.

“I see you’re heading to the bathroom,” I said, like this was a regular, everyday interaction between two very clothed people. “You’ll have to wait. I was going there first.”

Perfect. Completely reasonable.

But he didn’t respond. Not even a word. He just… moved; walked past me like I hadn’t said anything.

I turned immediately. “Hey-”

No reaction. He kept walking.

Excuse me?

I hurried after him, the floor suddenly very real beneath my feet as I closed the distance. “I’m talking to you-”

And then I grabbed his arm.

Big mistake.

Heat flooded the contact point… and I became hyper-aware of it…

Instant, undeniable mistake.

Realizing this, I dropped his arm like it burned me. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to-”

I stepped back quickly, like distance could undo contact.

He had stopped also and turned because of this. And now, a smallest smirk appeared on his face, subtle but there.

“Relax,” he said, taking in my reaction. “You didn’t harass me. You only held my arm.”

I blinked.

“Alright. I am relaxed,” I said immediately, a little too fast. “I know. I’m- relaxed.”

He stared. “Are you?”

“Yes.”

No hesitation. Full commitment.

Absolute lie.
