Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 471

Chapter 471

Gavin quietly closed the elevator doors and returned to the hospital room downstairs.

Dominic was pouring Chris a glass of water. When he heard the door open, he glanced back. “Back so soon?”

Gavin gave a low hum and walked to Chris’s side.

“Mrs. Xander went upstairs too. She was in the same elevator as me.”

At that, Dominic turned with the glass in hand and glanced at Chris, who was sitting against the headboard and pretending to read a document.

He said deliberately, “So Dr. Carter and Winter ran into each other?”

Ever since Winter remembered everything, Chris had avoided appearing in front of her except for yesterday, when he took her to see Richie. He was afraid of upsetting her again.

That was why, even though he wanted to go upstairs and see his son, he forced himself to stay here and act calm instead of following her.

Gavin gave another low hum. “Zac is here too.”

Chris turned a page.

The sound of paper scraping was sharp enough to make Dominic’s ears hurt. He sat down beside Chris and handed him the glass, his gaze sweeping over Chris’s pale, tightly clenched fingers.

“You’re about to crush your own hand,” Dominic teased.

But in the next second, Chris took the glass from him.

Dominic instinctively leaned back, expecting Chris to throw the water at him.

Instead, Chris calmly drank from it as if nothing had happened.

Dominic raised his eyebrows dramatically. “So you’ve figured things out? You’re not jealous anymore?”

Chris ignored him.

“Well, look at you,” Dominic said. “You’ve grown up. You’re finally not throwing a jealous fit.”

He had thought Chris would definitely lose control once he heard Zac was upstairs. Even though Zac was already engaged, Chris’s possessiveness had never been reasonable.

Zac knew her mental state wasn’t good right now.

No matter what, he never would have imagined she would develop depression.

“Winnie, everything will get better.”

After speaking with Zac for a while, Winter went to the changing room. She disinfected herself, changed, and entered the isolation room.

When she went in, Richie was still asleep.

Dr. Lucas didn’t have the heart to tell her that Richie had cried in the middle of the night. But when Winter saw the tears still clinging to the corners of his eyes, she understood.

She sat beside Richie’s bed and quietly looked at his little face.

She looked at him again and again.

Richie didn’t wake up, so she simply stayed there with him until visiting time ended and she had no choice but to leave.

As she was leaving the isolation room, Olivia, who had come upstairs with Gavin, happened to walk in.
