Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 415

Meeting the question in Winter’s eyes, William casually adjusted the brim of her hood and explained, “Getting you out of Liono City wasn’t something decided on a whim today.

“I’ve wanted to send you away for a long time.”

Winter froze.

William’s expression paused for a moment. Then he turned his head and signaled for Zton to keep watch.

After that, he put a pair of night–vision goggles on Winter. Looking at her with those naturally tender eyes of his, his gaze carried a rare seriousness.

“Three years ago, I should have gotten you out of this mess.”

Then she wouldn’t have wasted three years tangled up with Chris.

She could have left Liono City, done what she loved, and become the person she wanted to be.

Fortunately, she had finally come to her senses. It wasn’t too late.

Winter had known William since kindergarten. It was rare to see him this serious, and she hadn’t expected him to have made so many plans without telling her.

“You never mentioned any of this to me.”

“You’re allowed to hide things from me, but I’m not allowed to hide things from you?” William thought of the last time she had lied to him about her flight information.

If G hadn’t arrived in time that day, Steve would have almost ruined her.

As if thinking of something, William glanced at Winter and said with a hint of exasperation, “There’s a lot you don’t know.”

Winter frowned and looked at him as if to say he wasn’t being honest.

“What else are you hiding from me?”

“If I’m hiding it from you, why would I tell you?” William didn’t answer. He pressed a hand lightly on her shoulder, ready to lead her down the mountain.

But then he felt something different beneath his palm through her clothes.

He had filmed in the mountains before and recognized the feel of it.

A bulletproof vest.

His gaze sharpened slightly.

William stopped joking with her. He focused on the ground, occasionally using his own foot to brace the path for Winter. But Winter was steadier than he expected. She didn’t need his help at all.

The group gradually picked up speed.

Once the thought of leaving Liono City rose in Winter’s mind, she no longer hesitated.

The flattened weeds were soaked with muddy water.

Skyla dragged her heavy legs as she moved quickly toward the other side of the woods. Her light–colored pants were not only soaked from the rain. Frem her right thigh down to her knee, they were stained red with blood.

The wound had probably been caused by sharp rocks on the cliff when she fell.

She couldn’t feel pain. She felt nothing at all.

She only noticed the injury after she saw the blood.

But none of that mattered.

Even if that leg was ruined, she didn’t care.
