Her lips suddenly curved into a cold smile.

“I think I’d be fine even if Chris withdrew it. He’s the one who urgently needs something from me. I’m not in any hurry to have him. I’ve waited all these years. A little longer won’t matter. Besides, if I make Chris divorce Winter and marry me instead, wouldn’t that hurt Winter even more?”

Gavin waved a hand, signaling the bodyguard to step back.

Then he said coldly, “Do you know why I was in such a hurry to make you take this pill?”

Skyla’s expression froze slightly.

“Because sending the pill for testing would take too long. Feeding it to you directly would be much easier. We would know the result right away.” His eyes were cold. “And if I’m right, this pill isn’t the antidote at all. It’s poison.”

A chill ran down Skyla’s spine. She stared at Gavin without blinking.
