Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 362

Chapter 362

Chris’s hand tightened at his side.

The doctor’s expression was grave.

For the first few months after Richie was born, he hadn’t even been able to drink milk. Later, as his condition slowly improved, he had gradually been able to tolerate it. They had all thought his body might keep getting stronger. None of them had expected him to develop such a rare illness.

And there was still no news of a bone marrow match.

“Has he been crying these past two days?” Chris asked.

The doctor shook his head. “No. Once he falls asleep, he stays very quiet.”

Chris stood there in silence, looking at the small face on the monitor.

When Richie was asleep, he looked exactly like Winter.

“He has been sleeping for that long. Does that mean his body is getting weaker?”

It was because of the call from the hospital that Chris had decided to take Winter off the island early.

The doctor looked deeply ashamed. His voice was heavy as he said, “Mr. Xander, Richie’s body is too weak. He may not be able to wait another six months.”

Chris stood in front of the monitor for a very long time.

He looked at the screen quietly, as if time had frozen around him.

After a long while, he finally turned off the monitor and locked it again.

Before he left the hospital, he received a call from Gavin.

Chris got into the car and ordered the bodyguard to drive.

The car pulled into the underground garage of a secluded villa.

Chris got out and walked straight toward the basement.

This was the place where he had interrogated the assassins who had tried to kill Winter on New Year’s Eve.

Gavin had secretly dealt with those people already.

Today, someone else had been brought here.

Chris pushed open the basement door and saw Skyla, her hands and feet locked in chains.

Skyla’s heart tightened.

So he really had come for that.

“Don’t you have anything else to say to me?”

The moment she said that, a chilling darkness settled over Chris’s bottomless eyes.

Skyla bit her lip and forced down the grief and pain in her chest.

She took a deep breath and said, “I have the antidote for the poison in my body. Once I take it, my blood and my body will return to normal.”

“I can still be useful to you.”

This was the final bargaining chip she had saved for herself.

This was the gamble she had to win.

Chris lit a cigarette, his expression cold and distant.

Skyla looked at the man she loved and said, “All I want is for you to publicly clarify to the media that you and Winter have nothing to do with each other.”
