Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 361

Chapter 361

When Winter woke again, they had already crossed back into the country. Chris was still holding her tightly in his arms.

At first, she struggled, but even though she was mostly sober by then, her body was still heavy from the alcohol. After a while, she couldn’t fight the drowsiness anymore and fell asleep again.

Chris held her close. He loosened the slightly messy bun at the back of her head, then took his tie and wrapped it around her wrist instead. His gaze rested openly on her face.

No matter how much time had passed, she was still the same as she had been back then. Whenever she couldn’t find a hair tie, she used one of his ties to pull back her hair.

The helicopter flew through the night.

In another two hours, they would reach Liono City.

Chris lowered his head and kissed her forehead.

In her sleep, Winter shift unconsciously, her face brushing against his chest. Her lips moved.

“Stop messing around.”

Then, softly, she murmured, “Chris.’

Chris’s arm stiffened around her.

He frowned and pulled her closer, then lowered his head again to kiss her forehead and the crown of her head.

“Winnie,” he whispered, “don’t remember.”

The helicopter landed on the helipad at Blackwood Manor. Chris carried Winter off the aircraft.

Late at night, Blackwood Manor was especially quiet.

Inside the house, General had been sleeping. When he heard the sound of the helicopter blades, his ears perked up and he ran out the front door. Under the moonlight, he saw the black helicopter.

The moment he saw the person in Chris’s arms, his eyes lit up. He wagged his tail and bounded toward them.

But before he could get close to Winter, Chris cast him a faint glance.

The bark that had almost escaped General’s mouth was forced back down. All that came out was a low whimper.

Curious and excited, General followed Chris into the main house with careful, quiet steps.

Then Chris looked back at Mr. White. “I’m going out for a while. Call me if anything happens.”

“Yes, Mr. Xander.”

After watching Chris’s car leave Blackwood Manor, Mr. White turned and looked toward the second floor.

Moonlight slipped through the narrow gap in the curtains.

Winter lay on the deep blue bed, the flush on her cheeks not yet fully faded.

The double doors opened quietly from the outside. General, who had been lying on the floor, sprang up at once. When he saw who it was, he settled back down beside the bed.

Mr. White walked over and pulled the blanket back up to Winter’s shoulders after it had slipped while she turned in her sleep. Then he went to the floor-to-ceiling windows, closed the curtains completely, and left the room.

After leaving Blackwood Manor, Chris took a car to the hospital.

Richie was already asleep. Through the monitor, Chris looked at the child’s face, which seemed paler and weaker than before.

“Richie slept almost the entire day,” the doctor said beside him, updating Chris on the child’s condition. “He only woke up around evening. He drank about five ounces of milk and didn’t eat anything else.”
