Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show
Chapter 344 The Vote
Stella stared at Layla, her face twisted with cold, venomous rage.
She was a hundred percent sure Layla was behind this, and there was no way in hell she was letting it slide. Her fists clenched at her sides.
Layla couldn’t be bothered to stick around and argue. She’d already confirmed they had zero proof tying this to her group.
She dusted off her hands and shot Carson and the others a look that said they were leaving.
But just as she turned to go, she stopped and looked at Fiona with the most pitiful expression she could muster.
“My house is gone. What am I supposed to do now?” she asked.
Fiona thought for a moment and said, “This was probably deliberate. I’ll send someone to help Stella rebuild as soon as possible.”
Hearing that, Stella’s eyes darted around, and a smile tugged at her lips. She tested the waters. “How about my family handles it?” she suggested.
Fiona frowned.
Layla, who’d been about to walk away, stopped dead in her tracks. She turned back, her face cold.
Stella’s little scheme couldn’t have been more obvious. Let the Grant family come? No way was Layla letting that happen.
She walked back to Fiona, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “We’re here to survive, not to play pretend vacation with you, princess. If anyone’s cabin gets wrecked, can they all just call their families to fix it? What kind of survival show is that? Why don’t we all just go home and pitch a tent in our backyards?”
Stella’s face twisted. She bit her lip hard and asked through clenched teeth, “Then what do you
want?”
Layla glanced at the nearby Vanguard, a meaningful glint in her eyes. “Here’s an idea. We’re live. Why not let the viewers decide whether your family can come rebuild your place?”
The fans watching went nuts the second Layla put the decision in their hands, and the live chat exploded.
[Layla’s right. If Stella gets a free pass, what’s stopping everyone else from doing the same thing?]
[If I were Emily, I’d call my family to build me a new place too.]
[Stella’s pretty slick, knowing her mom will always bail her out.]
The vote ended quickly.
Stella watched the “yes” votes pull ahead, a smug look flashing in her eyes. She turned to Layla with a bright smile. “Surprise. I won.”
Layla crossed her arms, wearing an expression that was all mockery and no warmth. “Even if your mom shows up, she’s just building you a mud hut. Have fun playing in the dirt together.”
That hit Stella hard. She snapped and started shouting, “You’re just jealous because my mom doesn’t love you! That’s why you’re saying this!”
Layla stopped mid-step and looked back at her, a mocking smile on her face. “Why would I be jealous of you?” she asked.
Stella lifted her chin, looking utterly self-assured. “Because Mom doesn’t love you. She loves me. Even though you’re her actual daughter, aren’t you?”
Layla spread her hands. “Well, at least you’re self-aware. I am the one with Grant blood. You’ve been stealing the life that was supposed to be mine for so long. Did you actually forget you and Ciara aren’t related?”
That shattered Stella’s composure completely. She lunged forward a step, glaring at Layla with pure hatred. “You’re just jealous of me!” she screamed.
Layla rolled her eyes. She was done with this childish bickering.
