Billionaire's Match (by Tangy Candy) novel Chapter 1199

They settled back under the covers, and Winnie curled straight back into Michael's arms as usual. This time, though, she could feel something stiff in the way he held her.

Rather than pull back, Winnie only tightened her hold, shifting a little until she'd pressed herself flush against him.

Michael didn't seem affected by it. Before long, Winnie felt his breathing slow and even out; he must have been exhausted, since he fell asleep quickly.

Her eyelashes fluttered as she opened her eyes and studied Michael's quiet face.

Both wore the same familiar baseball caps, their bodies thick with muscle, guns in hand. Trey didn't need to guess who they were.

Lacuna's men.

Trey couldn't help but smile. "I knew you'd come for me eventually. But you've got the wrong target. The one you're really after is Khloe Roswell."

"Trey, everyone who worked with you before has already been picked up by the police. You're the only one who knows our temporary contact point in Goldmont City..."
