The words had barely left Winnie's mouth when Michael suddenly swept her up from behind. Startled, she threw her arms around his neck. "What are you doing?"
"You really have put on some weight." Michael carried her toward the bedroom in long strides, his voice quiet but completely serious.
Winnie's face flushed at once. "I have not!"
"Sorry, my mistake. You haven't put on any weight at all... but now that you're pregnant, the heavier the better. You're actually too light."
Michael could barely hide the excitement in his voice.
He carried Winnie to the edge of the bed, then immediately knelt down and took her hand. "Winnie, I don't know what to say. This baby..."
"Don't worry. Even if you still want a divorce down the road, I won't give up my child."
Winnie glanced at him, her voice cool.
Whatever guilt she'd felt a moment ago had vanished entirely; Michael's expression was so solemn that she found herself fully swept into the act within seconds.
"Winnie..." Michael's eyes reddened all at once, and he suddenly struck himself across the face. "This is on me. I wasn't taking responsibility. I never thought..."
"It's not your fault!"
Seeing Michael turn the blame on himself, Winnie's heart ached instantly.
She hurried to cup his slightly hollowed cheeks. "Michael, honestly, anyone would fall apart after something like that happens to them. Even if it had been me instead, I don't think I could have handled it as well as you have. Please stop attacking yourself like this... do you really think that just because you got hurt, because you're not perfect anymore, no one would need you?
"Even before, when I thought I wasn't good enough for you, you stayed by my side the whole time. Was that out of pity?"
Michael answered at once, "No. I was never pitying you."

The readers' comments on the novel: Billionaire's Match (by Tangy Candy)
Will more chapters be downloaded? It’s been awhile and I’m still seeing chapter 1175....
When will chapter 1044 and more bd downloaded?...
This is the story that I like reading. The heroine got the hold of the situation right away. No humiliation, no injustice, which keep the readers feeling bad all the way while waiting for the right thing to settle in favor of the heroine. Good storyline, congrats writer!...
