Better Late, But Never His Again novel Chapter 108

She watched Audrey bend over and hide the camera in the planter. Seeing the triumphant smirk on the woman's face, Hazel's lips twitched upward, a cold glint in her eyes.

They had orchestrated this entire mess. They were bringing this upon themselves.

Once Audrey was gone, Hazel stepped out from the shadows. She walked over to tub number 6, bent down, and retrieved the device from the soil.

The camera was already recording, its tiny red indicator light blinking. She glanced across the aisle at tub number 9. Evelyn still hadn't come out.

She bent down and adjusted the device's angle. It remained hidden inside the planter by number 6, but with a slight tilt, the framing completely shifted. It would capture an entirely different target.

She brushed the dirt off her hands and walked inside her room.

The water temperature was perfect, the rising steam blurring her vision.

Hazel leaned against the edge of the tub, closing her eyes to relax. Her face was completely devoid of emotion. Soon after, she heard footsteps next door—Evelyn had entered her room. There was the sound of splashing water, followed by Evelyn softly humming a tune. She clearly seemed to be in a fantastic mood.

About half an hour later, Evelyn stepped out of her tub wrapped in a towel, a bright smile on her face. She was just about to find Audrey when she saw her walking over from the other side.

Both women were practically glowing with excitement. They were dying to check their phones and revel in the online fallout.

Hazel stepped out right at that moment, wearing her robe with her hair wrapped in a towel.
