Better Late, But Never His Again novel Chapter 107

The bathhouse area was thick with heat, white steam rising slowly under the soft lights. Hazel stood in front of a row of private tubs when Evelyn walked over with a smile.

"Hazel, are you taking this tub? It looks really nice."

Hazel turned to her with a smile. "Why don't you pick one?"

In her panic, Evelyn pointed blindly at the tub directly across from them. "I'll take that one."

Hazel glanced across the aisle. The sign on the door read '9'. A cold sneer rippled through her mind. Evelyn really knew how to dig her own grave. She wondered if a '6' and a '9' could easily be swapped.

Evelyn seemed to realize the exact same thing. She walked over and fiddled with the door sign, but found it was screwed tightly in place. Relieved, she let it go.

"You go ahead and wash up. I'm going to see which one Audrey picked." With that, she turned and left.

Evelyn walked over to Audrey and kept her voice low. "Hazel chose number 6."

A chilly gleam flashed in Audrey's eyes as she smirked. "We're in for a good show tonight. You go ahead and get ready. I'll plant the camera."

She patted the device in her pocket. "Don't worry, this hidden camera is completely undetectable. After tonight, she'll be an absolute internet sensation. With a scandal that explosive, she'll be fired immediately."

Evelyn, however, still felt a nagging sense of unease. Frowning at Audrey, she opened her mouth to speak, but swallowed her words. She turned and went to the restroom, turning on the tap and splashing cold water on her face to force herself back to reality.

Regardless of what happened, tonight's events would only benefit her. Audrey was the mastermind. At worst, she was just an accomplice. She could get rid of Hazel, and maybe she could even use this to get rid of Audrey later.
