Bait for a Gentleman novel Chapter 75

The moment Sebastian shut the door, before he could even turn around, a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind.

Audrina spun him around and pressed him firmly against the door.

Tilting her head up, she cupped his face, got on her tiptoes, and kissed him.

The man froze for a split second.

Her breath carried the faint, sweet scent of alcohol as her tongue easily slipped past his lips.

He wrapped one arm around her waist, letting her kiss and bite him as she pleased.

It was quite a while before Audrina finally pulled back.

With just inches between them, Sebastian looked down into her eyes. They were bright, clear, and mischievous—without a single trace of drunkenness.

"Faking it?" he asked.

Audrina's eyes curved in a smile. She placed her hands on Sebastian's shoulders, pushing him toward the bed. With a gentle shove, she forced him to sit on the edge of the mattress.

She straddled him, resting her knees on either side of his thighs and looping her arms around his neck.

"I really am drunk," she murmured, her voice incredibly soft and sweet.

"Is that right?"

Sebastian gripped her waist, effortlessly flipping her onto her back on the mattress. He hovered over her. "Then I suppose I'll have to take advantage of you."

As he dipped his head to kiss her, Audrina pressed a single finger against his shoulder to stop him.

The man felt a slight headache coming on and furrowed his brows.

The little liar. She had completely fooled him.

"Why are you here?" Audrina asked.

"Coincidence."

Audrina raised an eyebrow. "Oh, a coincidence."

She dragged out her words playfully. "I guess it's just fate, then."

Sebastian ignored her teasing nonsense, keeping his eyes fixed on her.

His gaze traced down from her eyes to the corners of her mouth, before settling on the delicate tip of her nose.

He simply reached out and gave her nose a light pinch. "Why fake it? You knew exactly what they were trying to do to you, and you still played along?"

Audrina swatted his hand away. "If I didn't get 'drunk,' they would have kept forcing drinks down my throat. I'm not an idiot."

"Right. You're not an idiot," Sebastian said. "You're just reckless."

His eyes remained locked onto hers.
