Audrina froze. He was being this accommodating?
But before she could even register her relief, the man casually added, "You drive yours, and I'll drive mine. Though it seems your car is unfortunately blocked in. That's fine. I'll just stand right here and wait with you until it clears up."
Audrina checked her watch. If she kept arguing with him, she was definitely going to be late.
Everyone at the station currently believed she was "Zachary's fiancée." The last thing she wanted was to be accused of acting like an entitled diva who came and went as she pleased.
The passenger door was still wide open. Admitting defeat, she dragged her feet and slid into the leather seat.
The moment the door clicked shut, a flicker of sheer amusement danced in Sebastian's eyes.
The car smoothly exited the underground garage. The morning sun filtered through the windshield, catching the sharp lines of the man's hands draped casually over the steering wheel.
Audrina kept her face turned toward the window, but her peripheral vision remained entirely fixed on him.
Neither of them said a word, but the silence inside the cabin was deafening.
She realized, abruptly, that Sebastian's heartbeat was incredibly loud.
The SUV pulled to a smooth stop outside the broadcasting station. Audrina unbuckled her seatbelt and reached for the door handle.
"Thank you."
She started to push the door open.
"I'll pick you up after work," Sebastian stated.
Audrina opened her mouth to tell him not to bother, but the second she turned her head, he was already leaning across the console.
His large hand cupped the back of her head.
Before she could even process the movement, he pulled her in and crashed his lips over hers.
Audrina shoved at his chest, but he didn't budge an inch.
The interior of the car was too confined; there was nowhere to run.
His scent completely swallowed her whole, his tongue parting her lips, tasting her with slow, devastating intent.
She knew she should push him away, but her body completely betrayed her, melting into him. It felt like sinking into a warm bath, totally intoxicating, leaving her desperate for just one more second.
It wasn't until she was completely breathless that she finally wrenched her head away, actually using force this time.
Only then did Sebastian release her. A distinctly smug warmth softened his sharp eyes.
"See you tonight," he murmured.
