Jared flashed her a meaningful grin. “Want to bet I could undress you even faster?”

Natasha’s pretty face instantly flushed. “You creep!” She shrieked and bolted out of the bathroom.

Nevertheless, she caught a glimpse of something she shouldn’t have seen. Natasha shook her head and dashed into the kitchen.

She wanted to make herself a honey drink to ease the hangover. But after searching all over, she couldn’t find any honey. So she ended up pouring herself a small glass of vinegar instead.

But the straight vinegar smelled absolutely awful. She had to pinch her nose and force herself to gulp it down. Her head finally stopped spinning so much.

She was about to head upstairs to see if Jared was done. Just then, her phone rang, and Natasha swiped to answer. “Hello?” It was her mom, Sandra.

“Nat, have you seen Joelle?” Sandra’s voice was laced with panic.

Natasha answered coldly, “No.”

Sandra sounded anxious. “What should we do now? Joelle’s suddenly unreachable again.”

Natasha’s lips twitched. “Don’t tell me she’s gone missing again?”

‘Seriously, how much longer is Joelle planning to keep pulling this stunt?’ Natasha thought, exasperated. ‘She just won’t be satisfied until Mom’s a nervous wreck, will she?’

Sandra said, “Ever since that night you brought Percy back to the Whittier residence for dinner, she’s gone missing. I don’t know if she’s upset over something.”

Natasha couldn’t help but frown. Her mom was clearly blaming her for upsetting Joelle. But they were the ones who insisted she bring Percy over in the first place.

But when she actually brought Percy over, everyone, especially Joelle, ended up pissed. ‘As if I’ve broken some unwritten rule or something, she thought.

Natasha scoffed, her lips twisting into a mocking smile. “What could upset her?”

“Joelle…” Sandra started but Natasha interrupted, her patience wearing thin.

“Alright, Mom, it’s late. I’m going to get some rest,” Natasha said, cutting her off and hanging up right after. She didn’t want Sandra to keep going on about Joelle.

But Natasha couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Why is Joelle out of touch again? What’s really going on with her this time?”

The sound of footsteps came from the stairs. She looked up and saw Jared coming down the stairs. Fresh out of the shower, he was wearing a big, white towel wrapped around his waist.

Dark brown hair, thick brows, bronzed skin, and a chiseled body with broad shoulders, chest muscles that bulged from years of training, and a set of rock-hard abs; he radiated strength and irresistible allure from head to toe.

Natasha was nearly mesmerized, unable to tear her eyes away from him. Only when Jared’s tall frame stood right in front of her did she snap out of it.

Who were you talking to on the phone?” he asked, his voice low and husky, eyes locked on her.

Jared fixed her with an intense gaze. “Do you?”

Natasha shook her head. “No.” She had a bit too much tonight. Even though the buzz was wearing off, she had just puked. and her head was still spinning. Right now, all she wanted was to crash and sleep.

But she knew, with the way things were between them, coming back to his villa meant something was bound to happen

Jared scooped her up into his arms. “Then we’ll just sleep,” he said.

“Really?” Natasha stared at him, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Jared’s lips curled into a faint smile. “Of course. When have I ever lied to you?”
