The guard carried me out and set me down in a cabin midway through the journey to the prison where everyone was being kept.

My father, however, had been placed somewhere else, slightly away from the prison.

There was a basement there, and I could already tell what kind of place it was.

As I entered the basement, I saw my father in terrible condition.

It seemed Sawyer had placed him there, right next to all the important files, keys, and everything else, just so whenever he visited, he could drink blood from my father.

It was so heartless of him.

He had left food for my father, forcing the poor old man to cook for himself while still in shackles.

When my father saw me, he cried. We hugged.

It was a whole big drama.

"Okay, I'll get you guys out. You should get your things together, and when you're feeling better, I'll help you get outside. Soon, the new president and the army will come and confiscate this place. It's a really important basement with all the files and everything, okay?" Mr. Green said to my father and me before rushing upstairs to prepare for our departure.

"I'm so glad that bastard is gone," my father said.

However, my eyes were still fixed on the hatch stairs leading up.

"What are you thinking?" my father asked as he took my hand and gave it a small shake.

"What if you stay here a little longer?" I said, noticing the kitchen.

Sawyer had kept quite a lot of important things down here, and if I brought my father more supplies, he could manage.

This place even had electricity.

He could eat properly while staying here in shackles for a little longer.

"Why? Why would I keep staying here? I don't like being here. I want to go out, live my life, enjoy my luxuries," my father complained.

I guessed he would say something like that, but I had a plan that would make him change his mind.

"For now, we won't have anything. You need to understand that. Everybody has found out that I lied about everything. So even when Sawyer is gone, the army and everyone else will take our things away. But if we play this cleverly, we'll be able to get everything back and even more than that," I said, watching my father's eyes begin to shine.

"What's on your mind?" he asked.
