After killing the monster, I lay down beside it and spent the night there.

No one needed to know, and nobody was going to come up here to check anyway.

They were far too afraid.

At sunrise, I finally began to wake.

Thankfully, the monster was still there.

There had been moments during the night when I thought I'd heard growling, but it had only been my lycan stirring awake every now and then.

I yawned, pushed myself off the ground, and turned toward the trail.

A group of people was heading up the mountain.

I heard one of the warriors who had been staying nearby call out to me.

"It's fine," I shouted loudly enough for all of them to hear. "You can tell the others."

I glanced toward the dead monster.

"I've done it."

"Wait, really? The monster is gone? Does that mean we're free?" a woman yelled as she rushed toward me with her husband, carrying their child.

That was pretty much the life of the omegas.

They carried their children with them everywhere, letting them sleep for a short while before waking them again.

"Yes," I replied with a smirk.

The moment they reached the clearing, they stopped beside the monster and gasped, their breaths catching in their throats.

Everyone crowded closer.

Some even kicked the creature while others observed it cautiously from a distance.

A few pulled out their phones and started taking selfies.

"What about our children? How are you going to help them?" a woman asked.

I was pretty sure I'd already explained it to them, but she probably needed to hear it again for confirmation.

"Your children are free."

My gaze shifted to the side, where I spotted Alpha Ron, Byron, and Yuvonne making their way toward us.

They were the only ones coming up.

Rosetta wasn't with them.

That confused me. As a council leader, I'd expected her to be here.

"Wait, so does that mean we can just let our children sleep now?" the woman asked, turning toward the crowd.
