Chapter 462

After leaving the hospital, Cora met up with Peyton for coffee.

“Where’s Joseph?”

“Not at the clinic. He went out on a house call, so he should be back there around noon. If not, he’ll probably be at. the company,” Peyton replied.

She currently had people keeping an eye on Joseph. After all, she still needed him to treat her father. But she was careful not to let people get too close to Joseph, worried they would disrupt his daily life.

She glanced at the latest updates on Joseph’s whereabouts. There hadn’t been anything new, which meant Joseph had once again shaken off her surveillance. So she told her people to just stake out his usual spots.

Peyton quickly followed up with a question of her own. “You went to see Yara, right? How’s she doing? Is the treatment working?”

“It’s only been a day. It’s not going to work that fast. Just wait and see. If Joseph was able to cure your father with that treatment plan, then it proves it works. It’s only a matter of time before it works on Yara too.”

Peyton wondered out loud, “Huh? Did it not work? How could there be no immediate effect? When Joseph treated my dad, the results were instant. My dad could feel himself getting better almost right away.”

“Is it really that miraculous?”

Cora was a bit skeptical, but secretly thrilled. The better Joseph’s medical skills were, the more of an asset he’d be when they finally reconciled. Just thinking about it got her excited.

“The miracle that happened to my dad is all the proof you need-it speaks for itself. But honestly, the doctors over at the Traditional Medicine Center are not on Joseph’s level in terms of skill, whether it’s Dr. Geller, Jenna, or anyone else.

“Even if they use his treatment plan, it might not be as effective as having Joseph treat her personally.

“If Yara wants a complete recovery, she’ll need Joseph to step in personally. So, the real question is-can you talk your husband into it?”

“The fact that he even gave them the plan in the first place was already a miracle. There’s no way he’ll listen to me. At least for now, I can’t convince him,” Cora admitted.

Taking a sip of her coffee, Cora asked, “What’s the deal with Yelena anyway? Why do I get the feeling that she’s a difficult person to deal with? I’ve asked her out twice and she blew me off both times.”

“She doesn’t want to invest or do business in Jenton. She’s just here to get treatment for her family. So right now, she’s not going to interact with you guys much.

Yara was deeply displeased, her eyes filled with disdain for Cora. However, since she still needed Cora to get Joseph to treat her, she had no choice but to swallow her pride for now.

“Joseph is a very reasonable man. As long as you give him a good enough explanation, he’ll forgive you.”

“We’ll see.”

Yara swore on the inside that she’d never lower herself to that lowly, despicable bastard named Joseph.

With the business sorted out, Cora had the finance department handle the incoming funds and took off.

She ran into Jenna by the elevators. She tried to say hello, but Jenna hurried past as if she hadn’t seen her at all.

Cora figured Jenna was just rushing off to save a patient. It was normal to tune everything else out in an emergency.

What she didn’t know, however, was that Jenna had just gotten her hands on the sample Joseph wanted.
