His informants kept watch at Joseph Hart Clinic and discovered that Cora had indeed shown up there. She only took a glance at the critically injured Mona and confirmed that she had been intubated and couldn’t speak.

Cora didn’t stay and simply went home to be with the children. However, she had left her spy around the clinic, so she would know the moment Joseph appeared.

Joseph thought, “Cora, you never expected that I would know about everything and strike first, did you?”

He restored his original appearance but still used some makeup to conceal his features. Then, he took his men with him and made his move. He used anesthetic darts to knock out Cora’s spy and entered the clinic to take out the medical staff inside before taking Mona away.

At the docks, he met up with Yelena and took Mona away.

Yelena was delighted to see Joseph again. She didn’t interrupt him while he was saving Mona.

After Joseph ensured that Mona was in a stable condition, only then did Yelena speak up. “Everyone’s been looking for you lately, but no one can find you. Where have you been?”

Joseph replied, “I’ve been hiding in the very place everyone would easily overlook. I knew Cora, Peyton, and the others were looking for me, but I didn’t want to show myself. Mona might be someone I knew in the past, but she’s working for Yara.

“That’s very strange, so I need to find out what’s going on. That was why I saved her.”

Yelena responded, “I know what kind of person you are. You always know where to draw the line. I’ll support you no matter what.”

Joseph then sat down with Yelena for a drink and a casual chat.

They docked at a safe location and transferred Mona into a car. After taking a roundabout route, Joseph brought Mona back to Jenton.

Late that night, he took Mona to a rented apartment in Redwick. He had prepared some medical devices there. This would be the place where he would save Mona.

After getting everything settled, he disguised himself as his ugly alter ego, Henry, and quietly returned to the Traditional Medicine Center.

The next morning, Joseph washed up and was getting ready to head to his department when he received a call from Cora.

He asked, “What’s up, Ms. Lowell?”

Right away, Cora asked, “Where were you last night?”

Joseph answered, “I was in the dorm at the Traditional Medicine Center the whole night. Are you going to assign Fiona to me?”
