Initially, Joseph wanted to go drinking, but alcohol would impair his judgment. He was afraid his mind might become clouded, and he couldn’t risk losing focus and missing his chance in such a turbulent situation.

Cora refused to accept Natalie’s paternity test results, turning a blind eye to the truth. She took Joseph for a fool and openly flirted with another man in front of him. She even wanted him to beg her. He refused to accept such humiliation.

Joseph wanted revenge. He had to get back at her!

Initially, Joseph wanted them to part on good terms, but Cora kept taking things too far. She had pushed him into seeking revenge.

Once he was at the Blackveil River, he set up his fishing rod and became lost in thought.

Time passed, and night fell. Ella approached Joseph and got straight to the point. “Joseph, you’re coming home with me now. This is what Ms. Lowell asked for.”

“You’re only acting tough because you have Cora to back you up! You can’t even take care of yourself,” Joseph said coldly before slapping Ella.

“You started it. Well, don’t blame me for what comes next.” Ella was furious and wanted to teach Joseph a lesson. She decided not to go for his face, but a few kicks to his body to drive him off would do the trick.

Just then, someone shone a torch in a way, sweeping it toward her in short bursts. It made her feel like she had just walked into an ambush, so she dared not make any sudden moves.

“There’s always someone stronger out there. If you don’t want to end up in the river, get lost!”

Joseph sat back down. Ella was intimidated by his calm demeanor and got back into the car to report to Cora.

A moment later, several cars arrived along the riverbank-belonging to Cora and her bodyguards. She walked over to Joseph with a frown and said, “Joe, come home with me.”

“Cora, the Croma faction just set up New World Group in Jenton. Since they’re working with the Jenton faction, things are fine again.

“Your crisis is over. Now that the major issues are settled, let’s deal with our own personal affairs. We should get a divorce.” Joseph spoke in a flat, cold voice as he smoked.

“You’re bringing that up again? A divorce? Are you done?” Cora’s brows furrowed.

“I’ve looked into your business trips, especially the lunger ones-those lasting three, five, seven days, or more. You told me you had to go on business trips, and I believed you.

“But during my investigation, I noticed something strange. Your company’s operations didn’t match those periods.

“But it wasn’t as if you came back empty-handed. After you came back from those trips, your company would launch new projects or receive new funding.

“Isn’t that obvious? Someone influential saw potential in you. That person is the reason you and your family are where you are today. But you? What have you even done?”

“Why don’t you just get to the point? What do you really want?” Cora was completely shaken. She hadn’t expected Joseph to have been looking into her. Nothing was ever truly untraceable, and she was no exception either.

“What do I want? Haven’t I told you this a hundred times? I want a divorce! Once the divorce is finalized, you can spend the rest of your life with your benefactor, Natalie’s biological father, or anyone else! I’ll have my own life. We’ll stay out of each other’s way.”

“Don’t even think about it! I’ll never agree to a divorce! I’ll wait for you until midnight. If you refuse to come home by then, don’t come back. Just fish all you want.”
