Joseph was overseeing emergency care in the emergency room when Paige came in, saying that Dave wanted to see him, so he went over.

“Joseph, I need you to make a decision on this case. Walt has taken ill in detention and may be transferred to our hospital.” Dave got straight to the point.

“You and Dr. Quinn can make the call-no need to ask me. Besides, if Walt’s transferred to our hospital, he’d be admitted to the general ward, cardiology unit, or neurology unit. He wouldn’t be taken to the ICU.”

Joseph could understand Dave being unfamiliar with hospital procedures, but there was no way Yvette could have been unaware of that.

“Dr. Quinn wants you to handle the arrangements. If you give the green light, he’ll be placed in the ICU.”

“The less trouble, the better. Absolutely not,” Joseph said, not wanting to see Walt.

Dave went off to report to Yvette. Within half an hour, Joseph received a message from Paige, telling him to go to a specific room in the ward. When he got there, he saw Walt lying on the bed.

Damn that Yvette. A flicker of hostility rose in Joseph’s heart, but he still carried out his duty as a doctor and went to examine Walt.

Apart from elevated blood pressure shown on the monitors, Walt also had underlying heart conditions. Under normal circumstances, he was able to keep them under control with medication and proper care, but the recent emotional shock had significantly worsened his condition.

Joseph gave a rather serious diagnosis in the police report. After clearing the room, he looked at Walt, who was pretending to be asleep, and cleared his throat.

Walt opened his eyes. He looked around before saying, “Joseph, someone else has taken over the hospital. You won’t have the same stability at work anymore. Don’t trust Yvette or any of those outsiders.”

Joseph was really disappointed. He had expected Fiona to bring some worthwhile news. He couldn’t believe she really expected him to help Walt and the Lowells.

“Now that you’re at the hospital, you should get a scan and see how bad your breast hyperplasia is.”

“There’s nothing wrong with me…” Fiona watched as Joseph walked away. After paying a quick visit to Walt, she left the hospital too.

In the car, she reported to Cora, saying, “Joseph turned me down. He still refuses to help us.”

“Let me handle Joe. I just want you to follow up with that woman and make sure she doesn’t change her mind. want her to leave Jenton as soon as possible.

“As for you, don’t come back to Jenton University Hospital unless I say so. Ella has identified a few skilled / infiltrators.”
