The rest of the press pack eagerly jumped in. "Mr. Langston, why isn't the driver's daughter here today? Is she hiding out of guilt?"

"Mr. Langston, rumors state she's pregnant with a Langston child. Who in your family was blind enough to sleep with the enemy's daughter?"

The relentless barrage of questions turned the brothers' faces a deep, furious shade of red.

"If giving her the entire estate is what it takes for her to forgive us, I say we sign it over. We're all family, right? Isn't that the exact line you used to drill into our heads?"

Alaric nodded emphatically. "He's right. We failed her on every conceivable level. If we don't give her everything we have, how are we supposed to face Mom and Dad in the afterlife?"
